ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN LEAD

Summary:
We are searching for a highly proficient Lead Electrical Technician to oversee the electrical prerequisites and testing. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing equipment, electronics components, switch panels and electronic systems, machinery, and equipment used primarily within a foundry environment. The Electrician will be able to read and understand schematics.

Responsibilities:

Provide support and training to team members regarding day-to-day electrical challenges.
Fulfill electrical requirements, including final system wiring and testing, for both standard and unconventional pump configurations based on specifications, drawings, and bills of material.
Assemble systems and non-standard pump configurations according to provided specifications and drawings. This involves tasks such as mounting, bolting, drilling, tapping, screwing, and cleaning.
Contribute valuable insights during pre-design and final design review meetings, vendor documentation reviews, and project assessment meetings.
Ensure all components are assembled, wired, tested, and leak-checked to meet customer specifications with exceptional quality and zero defects.
After completion, supervise the evaluation of all tested systems by fellow team members involving electrical components and/or controls.
Complete work assignments within specified timelines while upholding Export Systems' high-quality standards.
Oversee the safe use of electrical test equipment, power cables, and high-voltage connections.
Direct and approve all electrical work conducted by external contractors.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, comply with Hazard Communications (Right to Know) training, and actively participate in all company safety and health programs.

Job Requirements

Skills / Knowledge / Experience:

Education: Minimum of a two-year technical school degree.
Relevant Experience: At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical wiring, assembly, repair operations, and/or final system testing.

Knowledge and Skills:

Proven experience in leading teams of shop technicians or similar environments.
Proficiency in operating overhead cranes, jib cranes, and material handling equipment.
Familiarity with 6S and Lean Manufacturing principles within the workplace.
Preferred experience in PLC Programming with troubleshooting communications and connections.
Proficiency in computer skills, including e-mail, MS Office, online meetings, etc.
Strong electrical aptitude with a mechanical background and ability to use hand tools, small power/pneumatic tools, and electrical equipment.
Ability to read and interpret general assembly drawings, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and effectively use handheld measuring devices such as micrometers and voltmeters.
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, with the potential to assume a team leadership role.
Proficient electrical and mechanical assembly skills using appropriate tools, with the ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds.
Customer-focused and team-spirited, with a strong drive to enhance the knowledge and cohesion of shop floor personnel regarding electrical expertise, team dynamics, and production efficiencies.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The role involves working in proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to outdoor weather conditions. There may be occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, working at heights, handling toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock and vibration. The work environment is typically noisy.
